Meet Dr. Audrey Schwarzbein - Board Certified Surgeon

During the past 12 years, Dr. Schwarzbein has fulfilled her dream of performing sight-restoring procedures as a board-certified Ophthalmologist. Graduated from the USC School of Medicine, she then completed her internship and residency at the world-renowned USC/Doheney Eye Institute.

Dr. Schwarzbein has served as Chief of Ophthalmology at the Orange Coast Memorial Center and is a member of the medical staff at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. She received additional specialty training in refractive eye surgery at the USC/Doheney Eye Institute. As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, she keeps abreast of evolving and emerging technology.

Dr. Schwarzbein brings her professional level of enthusiasm to the Eye Center of Orange County. Dreaming of becoming a physician at the early age of twelve, she reflects, "As a child, I always knew I would do something very special using my intellect and my hands. Eye surgery is even more rewarding and amazing than I even imagined."

After several thousand cataract and LASIK vision correcting procedures, she is energized by the prospect of improving each new patient’s vision. Dr. Schwarzbein has expanded her area of expertise to enhance the Eye Center’s comprehensive eye care program. She performs blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and administers Botox treatments in her focus on revitalizing the beauty of the face and the eyes.

Raised as a California native of Argentine decent, Dr. Schwarzbein is fluent in Spanish. She credits the guidance of her parents for instilling self-confidence and a strong work ethic that has manifested itself in her personal touch and a dedicated approach to each patient.

Her commitment to her work and the personal bonding with her patients is reflected in her home life. Dr. Schwarzbein and her husband are the parents of two accomplished children. The family’s energetic life-style includes mountain climbing, tennis and traveling the world. Staying healthy and giving the best possible health care to her patients is always at the forefront of each new day.
