Meet Dr. Jonathan Ramin Pirnazar

Jonathan Ramin Pirnazar, M.D. is the Medical Director for NVISION Laser Eye Centers Ontario, Eye Center of Orange County now NVISION Eye Center of Orange County and Pacific Hills Surgery Center. He graduated with Honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine in 1995. He completed his residency at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis where he stayed on faculty as the Chief of University Eye Service. He then pursued a corneal refractive surgery fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, where he joined the faculty in 2000 as an Assistant Professor. Over the years Dr. Pirnazar has trained Residents and Fellows in the art of LASIK surgery as well as cataract surgery. Twice they have given him the honor of “Teacher of the Year” in 2002 and 2004.

Dr. Pirnazar is one of the first surgeons in Orange County to implant all three presbyopic Intraocular Lens (IOLs): ReSTOR®, ReZoom™, and Crystalens®. He was also one of the first to use the IntraLase® FS Laser System for LASIK surgery.

He has performed thousands of refractive and cataract surgeries and is published in several respected journals including the American Journal of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Times. Aside from his clinical duties, Dr. Pirnazar has been involved in numerous drug studies and clinical trials to treat ophthalmic disease. Eye doctors all throughout Southern California have referred to him for his expertise in managing complex eye surgeries and ophthalmic emergencies.

Performing eye surgery is his passion. Whether it involves performing LASIK or complex cataract surgeries and transplants, he enjoys getting to know his patients and helping them achieve their visual goals.

Dr. Pirnazar resides in Orange County with his wife and sons. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, and can be caught on Sundays watching the Chicago Bears.
